Renewing their vows

I spent last week in Hawaii with my family for a pretty special occasion: my parent's 40th anniversary! They decided to renew their vows, and brought along me, my brother Tyler, my sister Paige, and some other close family and friends. Not only was the beach sunset on Kauai an amazing back drop to their ceremony, you could clearly see how much they love and care for each other.

My dad even flew in our pastor from Texas to lead the ceremony. It was a total surprise to my mom.

And of course, all of the ladies wore TOMS.

What a really occasion to spend with family. I'm glad you could do it, and in such a beautiful place. Of course, what made a great difference is the wearing of TOMS!

I think I didn't have the opportunity before, I will probably write an email to you with details, but thanked to you, I'm planning my own social company. I'm a 25 year-old girl who was so inspired by you and your company, that now, I've decided to spend my little savings on creating a social entrepreneurship with a clear mission: help those who need us the most. I'll come back here to share with you the link to my Website, when ready.

But, frankly, I really want to thank you, because after graduating from College, as an English Sworn Translator, I was completely lost in my professional career. I couldn't find the job which really inspired and got me excited and gave me joy every time I woke up in the morning. After hearing about TOMS, your story and your incredible work, I've been inspired to start my own business to help people in need around the world.

I'll tell you more and better when things start working.

Thank you, Blake, thank you for sharing your tremendous heart with the rest of the world.

God bless you!

PS: I'm sure your TOMS team know me, since I've contacted Megan and Alejo to start a Spanish Blog to share TOMS story!

Hello Blake,
I'm Pedro and I'm from Chile but living in New york right now.
Congratulations for Toms!! I've been following you for a couple of months and finally decided to write you.
Back in Chile (just one year ago) I was in charge of a social entrepreneurship called Late (heartbeat in spanish) www.late.cl and basically we were giving baby bottles to a Foundation per bottles of water sold.
I just want to keep contact with you so we can share some ideas and why not, open Toms or open new social businesses for profit in latin america.
I found you on LinkedIn and you can take a look at my profile over there too.

Please contact me whenever you can and congratulations again.

Hi Blake,
What a beautiful ceremony! It looks like you had a great time with your family and some special memories were made.
I applied for four internship positions with TOMS this Fall and I hope to be working with you and your company very soon! I am keeping a travel blog of my upcoming service trip to Guatemala (I will definitely be bringing my TOMS along) and I would love for you to follow my adventures: http://emilyenroute.wordpress.com/

Sincerely,

It's amazing to see couples who are not only married but successfully so. You are incredibly lucky to have such strong role models in your life. =)

it's not only being lucky, having nice parents...having a great oportunity in life...it's about being smart and good enough to take it!
you are essentially good enough to be part of it and you made much more...it could be only a history about a successfull marriage, but guess what?
they are wearing Tom's.
celebrating a heritage of success.

So enjoyed seeing the "wedding styles" & enjoyed hearing you speak at the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit this week! Keep getting people from Here to There in TOMS!

Hi Blake,

I went to the Willow Creek Leadership Summit and heard your interview. I was so deeply moved by your "give, give, give" message. Jesus came to give himself as a ransom for many and what you're doing is beautiful. You said that you needed workers and partners to expand the mission work of providing shoes to all children who are under privileged. I am here to help - what can I do? Contact me at Insun.kim@gmail.com.

Your parent's 40th anniversary is absolutely praise worthy! In this world of family breakdowns, your parent's wedding bow renewal done in Kauai is a strong testimony that God is in their marriage! We went to Kauai for our honeymoon 28 years ago and we took our 3 children (now in their 20's) back to Kauai, exact place of our hotel and beach where we began with the Lord in our midst. Your parent's story is inspiring me to consider doing something similar with our family. I would love to meet you in person and see where and how I can help.

Please let me know how I can help you. I can speak Spanish and Korean also. Thank you for sharing your love and heart.

Lovely! And keep up the GREAT work. Just read up about your trip to Ethiopia. Being originally from their, it makes me really happy to see people from other parts of the world make a difference in the life of folks who are less fortunate; no matter where they are. Thank you.

Blake.. Awesome celebration four your parents.. I tried to find your e-mail address and could not, but I heard you at the Leadership Summit and would like to connect. I've been involved with using soccer as a tool, and bringing shoes, hope, and Brazilian soccer to Niger, Africa, Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, and I'm a native of Brazil. If you're able, I would like to talk to you about possibilities of partnering...
